Who was he?-John Fitzgerald Kennedy(JFK), was an American politician who served as the 35th President of the United States from January 1961 until his assassination in November 1963.What were his foreign policy objectives?-JFK was determined to control foreign policy. In his inaugural speech he states: “Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.” But, his foreign policy was spoiled by a few failures. Such as Operation Zapata, where the attempt to oust Cuban Communist leader Fidel Castro through a failed CIA-backed military invasion of Cuba. The operation was planned during Dwight Eisenhower’s presidency. However, JFK gave the final signal for it to commence. This was one of his worst foreign policy faults. What were his domestic policy objectives?-On the other hand, JFK’s domestic policy was successful. While in the office he created the Peace Corps. He also began the race to be the first one on the moon, against the Soviet Union. Which put a man on the moon in 1969. He was a strong campaign on mental health issues. The Cuban Missile Crisis of October 1962 was a direct and dangerous confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union. Khrushchev and JFK agreed that the Soviet Union would dismantle their offensive weapons in Cuba and return them to the Soviet Union.What was one most important thing this president achieved?- Although JFK was not president for his full term he managed to achieve multiple successful things. Later that year in September, Congress approved the legislation that formally authorized the Peace Corps. The Peace Corps has been helping places in need around the world ever since.What was the world like when he left the office?-On November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas, John Fitzgerald Kennedy did not leave the office by choice. He was assassinated. This left all of United States shocked. Many people were unclear if this assassination was the first attack from the Soviet Union, because they were in the middle of the Cold War. This even left a lasting memory on many citizens of the United States of America.
